Service Description

This service is available for male clients as men’s body hair is tough, usually thicker and more deeply set than woman’s hair. Laser permanently removes hair by destroying the active matrix (the germ cells that grow hair found deep inside a hair follicle) using heat. To understand laser hair removal you need to understand the hair growth cycle. On any part of your body hair grows for a while (anagen), stops growing for a while and falls out (catagen) and then rests for a while (telogen) then starts growing again. Unfortunately it’s not synchronized with all three things happening with different hairs all at the same time. It is only during the active growing phase (anagen) where the laser permanently disables hair growth because that’s when hair is actually connected to the active matrix (germ cells that grow hair and other structures down there) allowing enough heat to penetrate. The amount of time hair is in growth phase (anagen) is different in different parts of your body. On your face 4-6 weeks, body 6-8 weeks and legs 10 weeks or more. The period of time hair is in anagen stage is used by us to determine how many weeks between each laser treatment (so we get the maximum growing hairs each treatment). Initially we will set your treatment times at the average but once we start seeing how your hair is responding to treatment we may increase or decrease the times between treatments. BEFORE YOUR TREATMENTS. - Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment. - Do not wax in the 4 weeks leading up to your appointment as the pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective - Avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks prior to your treatment & always protect the skin with sunscreen. POST CARE: There may be some mild heat and redness in areas that have been treated. Things to avoid - For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing, or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers, and tight restrictive clothing. - Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks after your treatment and always use a sunscreen. We recommend an initial course of 4-6 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart (depending on area and skin tone).

Cancellation Policy

Please provide us with at least 24-hour notice.  This way, we will be able to adjust our schedule accordingly and we may be able to accommodate clients on our waiting list.  We will endeavour to send out reminder text or emails 24 hours prior to your appointment. Unavoidable issues come up and we will do our best to work with you in case of an emergency. Last minute cancellations or ‘no shows’ will be charged a cancellation fee each time.
